Cucurella Shuts Down Transfer Talk Amid Reports He Asked To Leave Chelsea

Marc Cucurella speaking on El Partidazo de COPE

Marc Cucurella has insisted he is fully focused on Spain’s run at the 2026 World Cup and has asked his representatives not to update him on any interest from other clubs while the tournament is ongoing.

The Chelsea left-back, who has been a regular in Luis de la Fuente’s squad, spoke openly on El Partidazo de COPE about his mindset heading into the competition in the United States.

“I am happy where I am. I told my camp not to tell me anything now, I don’t wanna know anything,” Cucurella said.

He was adamant about keeping distractions at bay. “I have instructed everyone not to tell me anything during the tournament. I don’t want to know anything, I want to enjoy this. It wouldn’t be fair to be thinking about other things,” he explained. “I don’t like to worry; I already have enough to worry about with my family.”

Reports in recent weeks have linked the 27-year-old with several clubs, including Manchester United, Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Bayer Leverkusen, and others, amid speculation over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge following Chelsea’s challenging domestic season.

Despite that background noise, Cucurella made it clear his only priority right now is representing Spain as they chase World Cup glory.

Chelsea still hold the player under contract, and any potential move would likely wait until after the World Cup concludes.
