Manchester United have shown solid interest in signing Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella this summer, according to reports.

The development follows the 27-year-old Spain international reportedly informing Chelsea of his desire to leave the club.

United, seeking defensive reinforcements particularly at left-back amid uncertainty over their current options, view Cucurella’s Premier League experience and recent performances with Spain as valuable assets, multiple media reports suggest.

Chelsea are reportedly open to offers in the region of €40–50 million for the versatile player, who can also operate in midfield.

No formal bids have been confirmed, and neither Chelsea nor the player’s representatives have issued official comments. The interest from Old Trafford adds a significant new dimension to Cucurella’s potential summer departure as both clubs look to strengthen their squads.

The defender has reportedly attracted attention from several clubs after Chelsea’s difficult Premier League campaign.

While Cucurella allegedly prefers a return to Barcelona—where he began his career—any move would depend on the future of Barca’s Alejandro Balde, with reports suggesting Manchester City have prepared a €70 million bid for the 22-year-old. Manchester City are said to be also monitoring Cucurella’s situation.

Cucurella, who joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 for an initial £55 million fee plus £7 million in add-ons, has a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2029. He has made 139 appearances for the club, scoring 8 goals and providing 10 assists, and contributed to Chelsea’s wins in the UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup.
