Marcos Senesi Confirms He Will Leave Bournemouth This Summer

Marcos Senesi has made 124 appearances for the Cherries (AFC Bournemouth)

Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi will depart the club on a free transfer at the end of the 2025/26 season after rejecting multiple contract extensions over the past year.

The 28-year-old Argentine left-footed defender has been a key performer for Bournemouth amid their strong season push toward European qualification, making his exit a notable loss despite the club’s recent success.

“AFC Bournemouth can confirm that Marcos Senesi will leave the club this summer upon the expiry of his contract, bringing an end to four memorable years on the south coast.

“A commanding presence at the heart of the defence, he has made 124 appearances for the Cherries and played an important role in helping the club cement its place in the Premier League,” the club said in a statement.

Senesi told afcb.co.uk: “From the first day I arrived, I felt at home at this club. I’m proud of everything we achieved over the last four years and I’m grateful for the support the fans have always given me.

“AFC Bournemouth will always hold a special place for me and I will look back at my time here with fond memories. For now, there are still two big games left this season and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”

“AFC Bournemouth will celebrate Marcos’ contribution to the club at Vitality Stadium following the final home game of the season against Manchester City,” the club added.

Senesi has drawn interest from Premier League sides like Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea, as well as European clubs including Roma and Juventus, positioning him for a high-profile next move.
