Newcastle United have made an official bid to sign Spanish winger Víctor Muñoz from CA Osasuna, with the 22-year-old identified as a top target for Eddie Howe’s side.

The youngster who was signed from Real Madrid for €5 million on July 11, 2025 can as well as play as a forward making him versatile.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday that negotiations are ongoing on both the club and player sides as the Magpies look to reach an agreement.

The bid comes as Newcastle seek attacking reinforcements following Anthony Gordon’s imminent move to Barcelona. Muñoz, who has impressed in La Liga this season with six goals and two assists in 34 appearances, is understood to be keen on the switch to the Premier League.

Osasuna are believed to hold a €40 million release clause in the player’s contract, which runs until 2030. Reports suggest Newcastle’s offer is in the region of €35 million plus add-ons, though talks continue to bridge any remaining gap.

Real Madrid, from whom Osasuna signed Muñoz last summer, retain a 50% sell-on clause and a buy-back option. Sources close to the deal indicate positive momentum with Newcastle confident of progressing quickly, also no official confirmation has been issued by either club.

The Barcelona-born winger, who stands at 1.73m and plays primarily on the left, has earned senior caps for Spain, including a goal on his international debut during a 3–0 friendly victory against Serbia in March 2026. He is currently part of the Spanish squad for the World Cup.
