Bayern Munich and Gordon have reached a basic agreement, according to Christian Falk, Head of Football at the German tabloid newspaper BILD.

According to Falk, Gordon has decided to join the Bundesliga champions and negotiations with Newcastle United have begun.

It is reported that Newcastle want €86 million for Gordon, although the two clubs remain far apart in their valuations. Talks between the two clubs are also said to be ongoing.

Falk says Bayern are prepared to invest approximately €60 million, and it is unclear whether Newcastle will settle for less than their valuation. Gordon joined Newcastle from Everton in January 2023 for an initial £40 million (€45.6 million), with the fee potentially rising to around €51.3 million with performance-related add-ons.

With his contract at Newcastle set to run until 2030, The Magpies command the negotiations and are likely to end up with a higher fee than what Bayern are reportedly offering.

Bayern Munich face competition for Gordon from Premier League side Arsenal, while rivals Manchester City are also rumored to be interested. Chelsea and Liverpool are among the other clubs said to be keen on the forward.

The forward has made over 130 appearances across all competitions for The Magpies, scoring 24 goals and providing 17 assists in the Premier League. He has also contributed 10 goals and 2 assists in 18 Champions League appearances.
