Real Madrid Femenino have confirmed that Brazilian defender Yasmim Ribeiro will leave the club after both parties reached a mutual agreement to terminate her contract.
The announcement, released on June 14, 2026, brings an immediate end to the fullback’s two-year spell in the Spanish capital.
The 29-year-old initially joined the club in the summer of 2024 to bolster the team’s defensive options. Throughout her tenure, she was a frequent fixture in the squad’s rotation across both domestic Liga F fixtures and European campaigns.
In an official statement, the club expressed its gratitude and affection for the player’s commitment and dedication during her two seasons wearing the white jersey. The board explicitly extended their warmest wishes to Yasmim and her family as she transitions into a new chapter of her career.
“Real Madrid wishes to express its gratitude and affection for her commitment and dedication during the two seasons in which she represented our jersey.
“Real Madrid wishes her and her family all the best in this new chapter of her life.” The club statement reads.
The departure follows a highly challenging period for the defender, who suffered a severe setback during the final month of the competitive season. Real Madrid’s medical staff confirmed in May that she had sustained a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right knee.
The injury required immediate surgical intervention and has sidelined the player for a lengthy rehabilitation process.
Before moving to Spain, Yasmim built a strong reputation as an attack-minded left-back in her native Brazil, primarily representing Corinthians. Her consistent domestic performances eventually earned her regular call-ups to the senior Brazil women’s national team.
Speculation is already building regarding where the experienced defender will choose to undergo her final rehabilitation phases. Several clubs in South America and the NWSL have previously monitored her situation and may offer a pathway back to competitive action once she returns to full fitness.
