Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of Portuguese midfielder Andreia Jacinto.
The 24-year-old international joins the Spanish club on a four-year contract, securing her future in Madrid until June 30, 2030.
The agreement will formally take effect on July 1. Jacinto arrives as a free agent after a productive four-year spell with fellow Liga F side Real Sociedad, where she became a stronghold in their midfield.
During her time with the Basque club, the midfielder accumulated more than 100 appearances across all competitions. Her consistent performances last season helped guide Real Sociedad to a competitive third-place finish in the domestic standings.
Born in Cascais, Jacinto developed through the youth ranks at Sporting CP, where she signed her first professional contract in 2019. Her tenure in Lisbon yielded silverware, as she helped the club secure both a Portuguese Cup and a Portuguese Super Cup before moving to Spain in 2022.
On the international stage, Jacinto is a well-established figure for the Portugal women’s national team. She earned her senior debut in 2020 and was subsequently named to major tournament rosters, including the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
Her arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu is part of a deliberate squad reconstruction for Real Madrid Femenino. The management is heavily focused on reinforcing the team’s core tracking lines ahead of the upcoming domestic and European campaigns.
The transfer comes during a busy period of transition for Madrid’s midfield following the departure of all-time record goalscorer Caroline Weir. To offset that loss, the club has also completed the signing of German midfielder Elisa De Almeida Senss from Eintracht Frankfurt.
By securing Jacinto, Real Madrid add tactical versatility and proven Liga F experience to their roster. The club aims to challenge FC Barcelona’s domestic dominance and push further into the knockout stages of the UEFA Women’s Champions League next season.
