Barcelona have not made any official approach for Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, according to reports coming out of Italy.

The player himself has reportedly been open to the idea of joining the La Liga champions, even though he’s never pushed Inter to let him leave.

The issue is that Barcelona are not prepared to match Inter’s asking price if they were to sell, reportedly rating him significantly lower than what the Italian club would demand.

Furthermore, the Catalans are prioritizing a new striker this summer, which means they won’t be pursuing Bastoni, who looks set to remain at Inter.

The 27-year-old arrived at Inter from Atalanta back on August 31, 2017 in a €31 million deal. He signed a contract extension on July 5, 2023 that runs until June 2028, and while there have been rumours of fresh talks over another new deal, there is no announcement of anything being agreed yet.

Bastoni has racked up 298 appearances for Inter across all competitions, scoring eight goals. He is highly regarded for his defensive capabilities, particularly his high pass accuracy and progressive carries from the back.
