Bayern Munich is close to signing 25-year-old Moroccan attacking midfielder Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, with personal terms agreed and the deal expected to finalize next week.
Saibari, who impressed with 15 goals and 8 assists in the 2025/26 Eredivisie season, will likely undergo his medical in the US while there with Morocco for the World Cup.
Sources indicate the medical is likely to take place in the United States, where Saibari is currently with the Morocco squad for the World Cup. Bayern are keen to finalise matters efficiently to avoid any interference with his international duties.
Saibari enjoyed a standout 2025/26 campaign, and was named Eredivisie Player of the Season, with a memorable hat-trick against Feyenoord among the highlights. Across all competitions, he tallied 19 goals and 9 assists in 37 appearances.
Defensively, he showed real commitment, winning 116 of 245 duels contested. His ability to drive forward with the ball from deeper areas, combined with clinical finishing that often exceeded his expected goals, made him one of the most dynamic creators in the Dutch top flight.
The transfer would represent a new club-record sale for PSV, with reports indicating they have held out for a total package in the region of €60 million. That would eclipse their previous high of around €50 million for Hirving Lozano’s move to Napoli. Bayern have reportedly pushed to bring the fee down slightly, but both sides appear motivated to reach an agreement soon.
Saibari originally arrived at PSV in July 2020 from the youth setup at Belgian side KRC Genk on a free transfer. He spent his early years developing with Jong PSV before earning a permanent promotion to the first team in July 2022. Since then, he has grown into one of Europe’s most sought-after young attacking talents.
Tactical Fit at Bayern
Tactically, Saibari looks a strong fit for Vincent Kompany’s side. His versatility — comfortable as a central attacking midfielder or drifting wide — gives Bayern valuable options in their attacking rotations. His ball-carrying ability from midfield could provide a direct, dynamic link to Harry Kane, while his finishing instincts would add another layer of threat in the final third.
This move, if completed as expected, would bring a player in his prime with proven output in a title-winning team and clear upside for the Champions League stage. Fans will be watching closely for official confirmation in the coming days.
