Police are investigating the theft of a large amount of England’s training equipment that went missing en route to the team’s World Cup base.

The gear was being transported from the squad’s pre-tournament camp in Florida to Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City. The vehicle arrived with items missing on Friday evening.

Kansas City Missouri Police Department confirmed they are looking into the incident. Two people have been taken into custody in connection with the theft.

Local police continue to investigate and have not released further details about the suspects or the full extent of the missing items.

Stolen items are reported to include players’ boots, training kit, official match balls, and other essential equipment. The Football Association is working closely with police to recover the goods or secure replacements.

England arrived in Kansas City on Saturday to prepare at their new training facility. The theft has created a minor logistical headache for manager Thomas Tuchel’s staff just days before the tournament.

FA officials say they expect to have everything needed in place soon.

England open their 2026 World Cup campaign against Croatia on Wednesday, June 17 in Dallas. The match kicks off their Group L fixtures.
